The big news from the entertainment world is that Sony is no longer working with Disney on more Spider-Man films. After a lot of outrage and discussion, Sony Pictures has finally commented on the ordeal.

Sony Pictures gave out its official statement via The Hollywood Reporter. You can read it all posted down below.

"Much of today’s news about Spider-Man has mischaracterized recent discussions about Kevin Feige’s involvement in the franchise, we are disappointed, but respect Disney’s decision not to have him continue as a lead producer of our next live action Spider-Man film. We hope this might change in the future, but understand that the many new responsibilities that Disney has given him – including all their newly added Marvel properties – do not allow time for him to work on IP they do not own. Kevin is terrific and we are grateful for his help and guidance and appreciate the path he has helped put us on, which we will continue".

Reportedly, Disney wanted 50/50 split in Box Office receipts for future Spider-Man films, but Sony declined the proposal. This split means Spider-Man can no longer be a part of the MCU.

That's not to say Tom Holland as Spider-Man is over.

He can work on solo Spider-Man films that don't feature any characters and storylines from the MCU. That being said, it's sad we won't see a Far From Home direct sequel since that film ended on a juicy cliffhanger!
