America's Got Talent Leads To Another Howard Stern Day Off

During the live show portion of the "America's Got Talent" season, which airs on Tuesday nights, Howard Stern has been cutting his three days weeks to two-day weeks taking Wednesdays off.

One one hand this makes sense because shooting AGT keeps Stern up well past his normal bedtime.

Since his radio show goes on the air at 6 a.m., the host goes to bed early. What makes less sense is why he does not simply take the day after the live AGT off, then return on Thursday.

The lack of a new Stern show Wednesday not only robbed fans of a live show, it also cut short the visit of George Takei, who normally sits in for a full three days at a time.

Takwi was in New York this week promoting a documentary on his life and as he usually does when he is in town, he joined the Stern crew in studio.

Instead of a live show fans who turned in Wednesday got a collection of old bits including a segment on a birthday party for Stern sidekick Robin Quivers and piece debating the relationship status of former cast-member Artie Lange.

Stern is expected to be back Monday.
